COLD LASER THERAPY
What is Cold Laser Therapy?
Cold Laser or Low Level Laser Therapy is the use of light or photon energy with the unique property of being able to penetrate up to 2 inches below the surface of the skin to cause an increase in cellular metabolism with no tissue damage what so ever. The increase in tissue metabolism results in biostimulation which increases circulation in an area resulting in more oxygen to the region which promotes increased healing potential. The Laser therapy increases production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and endorphins. ATP is a cells renewable energy source. Endorphins are the bodies natural pain relievers sometimes referred to as "internal morphine".

Is Low Level Laser Therapy Safe?
Yes. The FDA has ruled that the therapy is safe. The only contraindication is for use directly in the eye. The FDA approved the use of Cold Laser on February 11, 2002 for the treatment and management of carpal tunnel syndrome. Additional clinical studies have been and continue to be performed in regards to the effectiveness of treatment for injuries and conditions other than carpal tunnel syndrome.
