Galvanic Stimulation

Galvanic stimulation is mostly used with acute injuries associated with trauma such as bleeding or swelling in the tissue. Galvanic stimulators apply direct current, thus creating an electrical field over the treated area, which is believed to change blood flow. There are two pads; one positive and one negative. The positive pad behaves like ice, reducing circulation and swelling under the pad. The negative pad behaves like heat, increasing circulation and therefore, speeding healing.

The doctors at Ford Chiropractic will provide patient specific methods of treatment. Please review our other types of services available.
